How to access bios on HP Pavillion 9550f with Win Vista (64-Bit) to create port for Treo 680 Bluetooth sync?
I purchased a desktop HP Pavillion 9550f with a wireless NIC card and from my understanding has Bluetooth capabiliy.
I have a Palm Treo 680 (unlocked) which can not be synced via HotSync Manager with Windows Vista via the USB cable. Sync must be performed via Bluetooth.
How to I access the Bios screen and create a new port to enable HotSync Manager Bluetooth sync with my new HP PC? Palm customer service stated I needed to do this and could not provide additional support.
BIOS will only turn on or off the capability for the bluetooth to be available to the OS. You’ll see the settings under BIOS (usually press F10 or ESC for HP just as the first screen pops on when you hit the power button) Once you get that turned on, get into vista. GO TO START>CONTROL PANEL>HARDWARE AND SOUND>And click on BLUETOOTH DEVICES. Make sure that when you add a bluetooth device that your palm is set to “Discoverable” this puts out a broadcast for bluetooth devices to scan and see each other… usually it’ll ask you for a pass key… either 0000 or 1234.
