Although the traditional ‘white wedding’ is the unrivalled choice of many, the trend is fast turning to more colour as well as the all-important personal touch. The most favoured seasons for celebrating a union are often spring and summer, as they offer the most spectacular weather, flower and colour options for weddings.

The theme of the wedding should reflect not only the bride and her groom – their ideas, desires, hobbies and expectations – but should also flow through the entire ceremony, from the bridal outfits and mode of transport to the culinary fare and finer decor touches like linen rental, and now even the china, glasses and furniture hired, to present a cohesive theme for the big day.

A Spring Wedding – Renewal

A Summer Wedding – Languid and Balmy

The long, languid days of summer are also a popular choice for the prospective groom and his bride-to-be. It is a time of warmth, bright colours and plenty of sunshine and the wedding should encompass all these characteristics.

The bridal gown should be light and breezy in either white or ivory but with an emphasis on silver, platinum or gold accessorising – beads, faux gems or other pieces of glitterati. This should be reflected in the groom’s waistcoat and tie, who should be adorned head-to-toe in Firado Uomo if he is a trend-setter.
